PARTY POKER SIGNS MIKE SEXTON

In an announcement on Wednesday, Party Poker disclosed that they have renewed their association with poker professional and World Poker Tour announcer Mike Sexton. Terms of the deal were not announced but, with the continuation of their association, Party Poker and Sexton have been together for almost a decade in what has to be one of the longest running sponsorship deals in online poker.

It is no exaggeration to say that Mike Sexton is one of poker's finest ambassadors to the world. For years, he dreamt corporate endorsements and sponsorships of poker tournaments could work as a means of introducing poker into the mainstream, a hobby to be enjoyed by everybody. He discussed his ideas with anybody who would listen, and the success of the World Poker Tour can largely be chalked up to his credit.

Sexton issued the following statement: “Partypoker.com has always had a place in my heart and is special to me. I am delighted to pen a new deal; it means so much to me,” said Sexton. “I look forward to representing them in events around the world and meeting the online package winners at the WSOP.”

Party Poker is one of the biggest poker rooms in the world, with traffic, promotions, tournaments and game selection all top tier. Party Poker is also known for running tons of satellites and special events, including the famed PartyPoker Million.

Party sang Sexton’s praises in a statement: “Mike is the ‘Ambassador of Poker’ and we hope he gets the acknowledgment he deserves and is inducted into the WSOP Hall of Fame this year. Poker wouldn’t be as popular as it is today if it wasn’t for Mike Sexton.”
